About, and where our facts come from

We are an independent publisher. We are not a medical provider, a referral network, or a booking service, and we are not affiliated with IBLCE, ILCA or USLCA.

What we check

State licensing rules are read from the state’s own health department or legislature where we have done that work, and otherwise from the national professional body’s tracker. Every state page says which of those two it is, and links what it read. The dataset was compiled on ; 19 of 51 jurisdictions have been researched directly so far.

Crisis and support phone numbers were verified against the issuing organisation on .

What we will not do

If we have something wrong

Tell us and we will check it and correct it. Licensing rules change — Connecticut’s came into force in July 2026 and most published lists have not caught up — and a page that was right last year can be wrong today.
