Licensed lactation consultants
Only 5 states license lactation consultants at all. Where they do, the state keeps a public register — and that register, not a map listing, is what we publish.

Why this is a short list
Most directories publish every practitioner they can scrape, in every city, and then have nothing to say about any of them. We would rather publish the places where a fact exists. In a licence state the fact is the licence: issued by the regulator, current or not, with an expiry date. Everywhere else, the honest answer is that you can check a credential yourself in about a minute and you do not need us to do it.

- Rhode Island — DOH publishes lactation consulting lists; format not yet captured. Source
- New Mexico — No public lookup found for the Lactation Care Provider credential. Licence accepts IBCLC, CLC and others — it does not imply IBCLC. Source
What we do not publish
These registers carry each licensee’s address, and for a solo practitioner that is frequently their home. It is a public record, and republishing it in a crawlable directory would still be a harm — one that falls hardest on the practitioners with the least infrastructure behind them. We publish the city and nothing finer. No street address, no postcode, no phone number, no email.
To contact someone, find their own website or practice listing. That is a deliberate extra step.
