Med-QUEST, Hawaii's Medicaid programme, reimbursed lactation care only when a physician or nurse practitioner billed it, and did not pay IBCLCs unless the IBCLC completed the visit with, or was also licensed as, a physician or nurse practitioner — as described in an October 2021 article in the Hawaiʻi Journal of Health & Social Welfare. We have not found a newer Med-QUEST policy.
