- Reported as codified in Massachusetts General Laws chapter 112. Sources differ on the exact section — § 23B and § 23J½ both appear — which is itself a reason to treat this record as unverified.
- An applicant must be at least 18 and meet the education and clinical standards established for International Board Certified Lactation Consultants by IBLCE or its successor.
- The Board of Allied Health Professions includes three members who are licensed lactation consultants.
